1. Your agreement with AskFavr
Ask Favr Ltd, registered in Ireland under company number 796548, operates AskFavr. Our registered office is 6–9 Trinity Street, Dublin 2, Ireland. Contact us at contact@favr.online.
These terms govern your use of our platform. The Payments and Fees, Cancellations and Refunds, Community and Safety, Reports and Moderation, and Intellectual Property policies form part of this agreement. Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal information. Mandatory legal rights take priority over these terms.
2. What AskFavr provides
AskFavr helps adults find local tasks, communicate, agree arrangements and organise payment. A Favr is a request for help shared through AskFavr. The Asker posts it and a Helper offers to carry it out. You may use both roles. The task agreement is between the Asker and the helper; our responsibility is to provide the platform with reasonable care and skill.
Helpers decide whether to offer their services. They are responsible for the Favrs they agree to complete, their qualifications, any necessary licences and insurance, and their tax obligations. A profile, badge or payment verification does not certify professional competence or guarantee a task's outcome. These terms do not determine anyone's employment or tax status where the law provides otherwise.
Our current service area is the Republic of Ireland and Luxembourg. New requests and bookings must concern tasks performed within that area; Northern Ireland is not included. This concerns the task location, not your nationality. Support, existing payment records and requests to exercise your rights remain available. We will announce any future expansion separately.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter the agreements you make. Give accurate information, keep your contact details up to date and protect your sign-in details. Do not let another person impersonate you or create an account to evade a restriction. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Only offer tasks you can perform lawfully and safely. Tell the Asker if you offer services in the course of a trade, business or profession. A person offering services in their own name may still be a trader. The legal rights attached to a task depend on the actual circumstances, not merely the label used for an account.
4. Agreeing a task
Describe the Favr accurately, including the location, timing, access requirements, materials, expenses and relevant risks. Before confirming, agree the scope, price and practical arrangements in the conversation. Do not assume that an expense or extra task is included unless both parties have agreed it.
Publishing a request or exchanging messages does not confirm a paid booking. Review the chosen helper, task details and checkout total before authorising payment. Follow the booking confirmation shown in the app. Check that the booking and payment authorisation remain valid before travelling or starting a Favr.
Changes to the task or price require both parties' agreement and any payment confirmation requested by the app. Do not use an old authorisation for a different booking or demand an undisclosed additional charge. If a request expires from search, existing agreements and payment obligations still apply.
For new bookings, we keep the task and price details recorded at payment authorisation, the payment reference and the applicable policy version as evidence. This record does not replace the parties' agreement or prove that either party separately agreed to an unstated term. Tell us promptly if the recorded details do not reflect your agreement.
5. Payments and cancellation
Stripe processes payments and verifies helpers for payment purposes. The checkout shows the task amount, AskFavr fee, any other disclosed charges and applicable taxes before you confirm. A card authorisation reserves funds temporarily; the Asker confirms completion after the helper reports that the task is finished. See Payments and Fees for details of collection and refunds.
Use the booking cancellation action as soon as you know you cannot proceed. Tell the other person promptly, and stop the Favr or travel when a booking is cancelled. The Cancellations and Refunds policy explains card holds, reviews and consumer cancellation rights. Confirmation of completion does not waive rights concerning faulty or misdescribed services.
6. Consumer rights
If a helper acts as a trader and you book as a consumer, consumer protections may apply to the task, including requirements about service quality and cancellation. Those protections generally do not apply to a task supplied by another private individual. Your rights concerning AskFavr's own service remain separate.
A trader must provide the information and remedies required by law. No statement in a profile, conversation or these terms can remove a right that cannot lawfully be waived. Contact us if you believe a helper has misrepresented their trading status or a booking affects your rights.
7. Your content and conduct
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the requests, profiles, messages and other material you submit. Respect other people's safety, privacy and intellectual property. Follow Community and Safety. Do not manipulate reviews, payment records or evidence, interfere with our systems, or use the service for fraud or unlawful activities.
You retain ownership of your content. The limited permission we need to operate the service is described in Intellectual Property. We may assess content and reports, remove prohibited material and restrict access as described in Reports and Moderation.
8. Access, restrictions and account closure
We may take proportionate action where there is a breach of these terms, fraud, a safety or security risk, or a legal requirement. Urgent protective action may take effect immediately. You may ask us to review a decision using contact@favr.online, including if you can no longer sign in.
You can request account closure in Settings. Outstanding bookings, payments or disputes must be addressed; contact us if you need help doing so. Closing an account does not cancel debts, remove a refund entitlement or end our duties concerning your personal information. Your Data and Account Deletion explains the treatment of records.
9. Responsibility and loss
We are responsible for loss caused by our breach of this agreement or failure to use reasonable care and skill where the loss was reasonably foreseeable. We do not guarantee another member's conduct or performance, but this does not excuse a failure in our own duties. Each party must take reasonable steps to avoid or reduce loss.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by another member or an event beyond our reasonable control, or for losses neither party could reasonably have anticipated when making this agreement. If you use the service for business purposes, we exclude indirect business losses, such as lost business opportunities, to the extent lawful. This exclusion does not affect amounts properly owed for a task.
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. We do not require you to give up a statutory remedy or accept our decision as legally final.
10. Changes and availability
We may update the service and these terms for changes in law, security, payment arrangements or the features we provide. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they apply to your future use. A change will not retrospectively increase the agreed price or remove an accrued right. You can stop using the service and request closure if you do not accept an update.
Maintenance or an outage may interrupt access. If this affects an active booking or payment, contact support and check its status before repeating an action. We remain responsible for obligations imposed on us by law.
11. Complaints and applicable law
Send complaints to contact@favr.online with the relevant reference and the outcome you seek. We will consider the information and explain our response. You may seek independent advice or use any complaint, regulatory or court procedure available to you.
Irish law governs this agreement. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law that would otherwise apply, including in your country of habitual residence. You may bring proceedings before any court available to you under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue so far as they can operate fairly and lawfully.
