1. Closing your account
Choose Delete Account in Settings and follow the email confirmation steps. This helps protect your account against an unauthorised deletion request. If outstanding bookings, payments or disputes prevent closure, contact contact@favr.online so we can help resolve them. You can also make a data rights request independently of account closure.
Once closure is completed, access is revoked and eligible profile and contact information is removed. Some information must remain for the limited purposes below. We restrict its use and access to those purposes.
2. Why some records remain
Booking and transaction records: to complete or reconcile payment, deal with a refund or chargeback, meet applicable accounting and tax duties, and establish or defend claims. The relevant legal retention period and any unresolved payment or claim determine how long these records are needed.
Conversations, complaints and safety evidence: where relevant to an unresolved dispute, report, restriction or legal claim. We consider the seriousness of the matter, the need to protect members, the scope of the evidence and applicable limitation periods. An unsubstantiated report does not justify keeping unrelated information indefinitely.
Acceptance and security records: to evidence the agreement in force, investigate unauthorised access and prevent abuse. We limit retention to what is necessary for those purposes and any related legal obligation or claim.
3. Deletion and review
We assess whether identifiable records are still needed and delete or anonymise them when the justification ends. A legal obligation or active claim may require longer retention of particular records. Contact us for the criteria and records relevant to your account; we will explain any restriction on deletion.
Review photos are available in the active service for up to 30 days from upload, or until the case closes if sooner. Access ends at expiry or closure. An automatic cleanup runs at startup and hourly while the service is running to remove expired photos and photos for closed cases. A service outage can delay physical cleanup; access checks still apply when the service resumes. This specific rule concerns uploaded review photos, not all booking, payment or written case records. Restricted backups and independent providers are addressed below.
4. Backups and independent providers
Deletion from the active service may not immediately remove copies in restricted backups. Those copies are subject to backup retention and are not used for ordinary account activity. Where a backup is restored, applicable deletion restrictions must be respected. Independent payment providers may retain records for their own legal obligations; their notices explain those periods.
5. Exercising your rights
Email contact@favr.online from your account address where possible. Say whether you want access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to a use of your data. Do not send your password, login codes or full card details. We may ask for proportionate verification and will explain the outcome. The response times, complaint routes and other rights set out in our Privacy Notice apply.
